Worthy Grand Matron’s Page

Dear Sisters, Brothers and Visitors,

 As the Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Illinois for 2009-2010, it is a privilege for me to welcome you to our Official Website.  Information is provided here in the hope that it will benefit our members within Illinois and will assist other Grand Jurisdictions and that it will promote a better understanding of the Order to non-members everywhere.  To each of you I extend a heartfelt “Welcome”.

 There are many great plans made for 2010 and more to be made that I hope the membership will enjoy.  I would invite any member who has ideas or suggestions for membership growth, retention, fund raising, etc. to bring them to me.  This Order can only prosper with all of us working together.

 The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world to which both men and women may belong.

 Eastern Star is a social order comprised of persons with spiritual values but it is not a religion.  Its appeal rests in the true beauty of the refreshing and character-building lessons that are so sincerely portrayed in its ritualistic work.  A deep fraternal bond exists between its members.  It is the wholesome relationship of Sisterly and Brotherly love brought about through high principles exemplified in our life which makes us near and dear to each other.

 While this is an Order composed of people of deep spiritual convictions, it is open to all faiths, except no faith.  The personal welfare of our Members is vital to all of those in the Eastern Star and it is considered a privilege to help another Member whenever we can.
